Who is the service for?
- Adults aged 18 and over seeking support with weight management where a clinician confirms Wegovy tablets are safe and clinically appropriate after consultation.
- Patients who understand Wegovy is intended to be used alongside healthy eating, reduced calorie intake where appropriate, and regular physical activity.
- Patients who are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy within the next 2 months.
Who may not be eligible?
- People under 18 years old.
- People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, planning a pregnancy, or may become pregnant without using suitable contraception.
- People currently using another weight loss medication, unless their clinician advises how and when to switch safely.
- People who have recently used Wegovy injections, Mounjaro or similar treatments may need a break before starting Wegovy tablets; this will be assessed during consultation.
- Anyone for whom the clinician decides Wegovy is not safe or appropriate based on medical history, current medicines, side effects risk or treatment suitability.
What results could I expect?
Clinical trials with Wegovy 25mg tablets showed average weight loss of 16.6% over 64 weeks. Individual results vary and healthy lifestyle changes remain important.
How do I take it?
- Take one tablet once daily on an empty stomach after a recommended fasting period of at least 8 hours.
- Swallow whole with a sip of water (no more than 120ml); do not split, crush or chew it.
- Wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking other oral medicines.
- Do not take more than one tablet per day or double doses for missed doses.
